Thomas .Swift. Hutton (1860 - 1935) was born in Edinburgh, he lived in Wavertree, Liverpool for a while before moving to Northumbria. He exhibited at major galleries throughout the British Isles including the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts and the Berwick Club, Newcastle, the Royal Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy. Painted scenes of Northumberland and the North East coast, Yorkshire and Scotland, mainly in watercolors. Here we have an original watercolor "The Mill on the Moor" a very attractive piece painted most likely somewhere near Rothbury.
